For the past 130 years, Seoul National University Hospital has been the central national hospital representing South Korea. Her story began in 1885 at Jejungwon, Korea's first Western-style national hospital, which later opened the Seoul National University College of Medicine. In 1978, the hospital was reorganized into a special corporation, which is designed to raise medical services to the world level. At present, the Seoul National University Hospital consists of the main, children's and oncology hospital and also the Institute of Biomedical Research. The hospital has 1,751 beds and 8,000 employees, of which 1,800 are doctors, who see about 9,000 outpatients per day. Seoul National University Hospital is making every effort to protect human health.
